Nepali abductee Bipin Joshi is alive
Ambassador of the State of Israel to Nepal H.E. Shmulik Arie Bass briefed journalists on various aspects of the current situation about Israel today.
Fleeting with media personalities on Thursday, May 5, 2024 at his residence after being Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, the Ambassador Bass said a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that took effect on November 27, 2024 after both sides accepted an agreement brokered by the United States.
Qatar had been a key mediator of the indirect talks between Israel and Hamas.
Thousands of Hamas-led terrorists swarmed into southern Israel when the war was sparked on October 7, 2023 that had claimed over 1,200 lives and abducted 251.
It is believed that still 100 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of at least 34 confirmed dead by the IDF. However, the release of over 100 hostages held in the enclave is the main issue. “Among them, Nepal’s Bipin Joshi is the most central figure who is, as per the Arab sources, alive,” Israeli envoy Bass informed adding “but don’t know where and how’s the condition of him.”

“Let’s hope he (Joshi) will return home soon in a good condition of health,” Ambassador stressed.
As per the ceasefire deal, it would lead a fresh effort to secure a truce in Gaza, clearing the way for an end to a conflict that has killed thousands of people since it was ignited by the Gaza War.
Israel hopefully believed, according to the statement issued by the Israel’s President Isaac Herzog, was designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was ready to implement a ceasefire deal and would respond forcefully to any violation by Hezbollah.
The ceasefire agreement requires Israeli troops to withdraw from south Lebanon and Lebanon’s army to deploy in the region, officials say. Hezbollah would end its armed presence along the border south of the Litani River, informed Ambassador Bass.
Likewise, as per the statement released by the Foreign Minister Gideon Saar it has mentioned that “In full coordination with the United States, we retain complete military freedom of action. Should Hezbollah violate the agreement or attempt to rearm, we will strike decisively.”
Though Israel had so far dismantled Hamas’ military organization and (not fully yet) eliminated Hamas’ leadership responsible for October 7, 2023 war, now to wipe out permanently the dangerous war situation in Israel-Gaza area, there needs an urgent effective diplomatic efforts to solve the growing problems in the Middle East ensuring all hostages will return to their homes alive.
Instead of Hamas wanting destruction and elimination of the State of Israel, Hamas should recognize Israel’s right to exist. Thus, Ambassador Bass said that one of the smallest countries by territory (8,521 square miles) of the world–Israel wants peace and nearly 9.32 million Israelis would like to live peacefully.
The November 26, 2024 Ceasefire also needs to be outlined that the terrorist group- Hamas will never ever return to the center stage of exercising power that would lead a way to heal and rebuild a better future in the Middle East region.

The envoy also praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Nepal and Israel expressing his country’s aspiration to develop and strengthen various aspects of cooperation with Nepal.
The ambassador stressed the depth, strength and durability of Nepal-Israel relations, which he described as historic and advanced at all levels and various areas of cooperation, pointing to the expansion of areas of bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Bass also hoped that during his tenure, relations between Israel and Nepal would be strengthened.
