Nepal receives medical aid from Thai Royals

Thai envoy hands over medical consignments to Health Minister

The Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal Vosita Vorasaph has handed over the Royal aid to the Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathiamidst a brief ceremony held at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Sunday.

Besides the Health Minister, two other ministers– Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Minister of Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha were also present at the handover ceremony to honor and express Nepal Government’s special thanks to Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand as well as the Royal Family for their Royal aid materials.

The special cargo flight containing the Royal Aid donated by KingMaha Vajiralongkorn, Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana and Princess Bajrakitiyabha to Nepal arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport this morning.

The medical aid of Thailand arrived in TIA.

Earlier yesterday (Saturday), on behalf of Their Majesties the King and Queen of and HRH Princess of Thailand, the Privy Councillor to the Thai Royal Family Dr. Chirayu Isarangkun na Ayuthaya who was also ex- director general of the Thai Crown Property Bureau and lord chamberlain of the Bureau of the Thai Royal Household handed over the royal donation to the Nepali Ambassador at the Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok Ganesh Prasad Dhakal at a ceremony held at the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Base in Bangkok.

The royal donation includes one million surgical masks, 11,520 PPE gowns, 10,000 pairs of PPE leg covers, 10,000 pairs of PPE surgical caps, 5,000 face shields, 20,000 units of rapid antigen units, 600 units of finger tips pulse oximeters, 500 pieces of digital thermometers, 1,000 units of body bags, 30 units of oxygen nozzles and eight units of oxygen concentrator.

As Nepal and Thailand are enjoying their warm relationships at heightened levels, Thailand has been helping Nepal medical equipment in dire need during the hazardous time Nepal is struggling to cope with the corona pandemic. The medical aid received today from Thai royal family to Nepal will be remembered as a grandeur gift in the hearts of Nepali citizens who are working untiringly to downsize the corona epidemic. 

According to Worldometer, as of 16:48 Nepal Standard Time (NST) 12: 03 GMT, in Nepal the total coronavirus cases are 553,422. Of them, 7,163 have lost their lives and recovered 434,750 have recovered.
