Happy National Day Qatar

Nepal-Qatar enjoy warm relations: Qatar a trust worthy partner

Qatar is celebrating its 51st National Day TODAY– December 18, 2020 as the grandest day throughout Qatar and other various parts of the world too.

Qatar National Day is the day of national affiliation and loyalty that is celebrated to commemorate the unification of Qatar in 1878 by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani who is a father and founder of the country.

Before Qatar gained independence on September 3, 1971 it was a part of Great Britain.

Qatar National Day was established by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (then crown prince and heir apparent) on June 21, 2007, to commemorate Qatar’s 1878 unification by Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, who created a manageable level of autonomy for the peninsular tribes from British making Qatar as a unified cohesive entity and an independent country that achieved unity, loyalty, love, pride and gratitude.

Qatar National Day, also observed as “Founder Day”, is celebrated on December 18th every year by Qataris.

So, now onwards, Qatar is 51-year-old spotted as a nation on the world map.

Although the day is celebrated with utmost bliss every year, this year’s national day will be the majestic celebrations as the day is being marked with a special gala with the football fans from around the world coming to watch FIFA World Cup 2022 matches in Qatar.

The visitors in Qatar should not miss this marvelous day as the country has kept its traditions and history alive that could grab for a lifetime experience.

This year, the 18th December holds more special significance for the people of Qatar as this day is the National Day of the State of Qatar and coincides with the final day of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The national day celebrations begin with a bang on the morning of December 18th remembering the sense of patriotism who worked towards making Qatar a great nation as they went through severe hardship and paid a price for the nation’s unity to lead the nation to rise.

This year Qatar National Day 2022 is being celebrated under the slogan “Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength” adding extra special from the FIFA 2022 showing historical accomplishments of beliefs and values displaying a symbol of identity and pride unfurling a marron and 9-pointed edge white colored National flag of Qatar adopted in 1971 when the country was declared a sovereign state.

History says, the color maroon is a symbol of Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed bin Thani, and the nine- pointed edges portray the 9th member of the reconciled Emirates.

With Doha as the capital city, Qatar, with the population of 3,000,393 (as of December 17, 2022 based on Worldometer) is the country of high-income, is an Arab country located in Western Asia composed of water and desert but countless skyscrapers along with other architectures of Islamic designs.

National Day is an occasion to celebrate progress and great success renewing loyalty to homeland and leadership, staging an identity and values adding colors and joy to life holding great importance mutually and happily.

Hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022 successfully was a challenge. This promise would not have been achieved on the ground without all the Qataris’ attachment to their national unity, solidarity, dignity, hard work and determination.

With the successfully hosted the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qataris are pride of their affiliation to the country and loyalty to the leadership that made not only Qatar gained a grand success but the entire Gulf region succeeding Qatar’s “sports diplomacy.”

Overcoming social, cultural and economic challenges in the past, today Qatar is marching as one of the modern developed societies under the confidential leadership of Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Under the blooming leadership of His Highness the Amir, Qatar worked hard and transformed the fishery society into a modern advanced powerful nation raising standards of living of the people within a short span of time.

Let’s hope, with the vision and future planning by the leadership and the unity of people, Qatar’s journey will continue under the leadership of Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Taking an opportunity, we would like to extend congratulations to Qatari brothers and sisters on their National Day.

Reception in Kathmandu

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kathmandu, Nepal, celebrated Qatar’s National Day on December 14, 2022 at Soaltee Hotel where Ambassador of State of Qatar to Nepal Yousuf Bin Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Al-Hail organized a reception.

Vice President of the Democratic Republic of Nepal Nanda Bahadur Pun was the chief guest at the function.

Members of the diplomatic missions in the capital, a large number of high-level dignitaries from government, security forces, and people from various walks-of-life including politics, economic, social, media, silver screen were presented at the national day function.

Relations

Nepal established diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar on January 21, 1977.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, bilateral relations between the two countries are cordial and friendly, enjoying good relationships that are based on mutual trust, respect, understanding and cooperation.

The positive trend in the bilateral relations between Nepal and Qatar has maintained a level of excellence throughout the recent years, noting the excellent status of Nepal-Qatar relations in which Qatar demonstrated to be a key and a reliable partner.

FLAGS: Nepal-Qatar enjoy warm friendship

The relationship between Nepal and Qatar has reached even greater heights promising to continue to work closely together as partners on various international forums.

Qatar established its residential mission in Kathmandu in August 2011. But Nepal opened its Embassy in Doha only July 11, 2000.

Based on the principles of cooperation, understanding and mutual respect, both the nations share similar viewpoints and positions, including the support to international peace and security playing a pivotal role at international forums.

As Nepal and Qatar share similar views on many international agendas and issues, both countries at the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement, and other international forums have been working in tandem and playing an active role for the cause of peace, security and development in the world.

To be noted that, Qatar being a good partner, over 400,000 Nepalese human skills of various capacities are proud with the contribution they made in efforts on various infrastructures development projects carried out in Qatar.

Besides many others, around 250 Nepalese are volunteering in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to ensure the success of the FIFA World Cup.

Nepal is proud for 45 years of trust worthy partnership with the State of Qatar and look forward to sailing friendships in pride in future days too.

Ambassador of the State of Qatar Yousuf Bin Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Al-Hail

Qatar has also been helping its efforts to Nepal in various sectors. Notably, Ambassador Yousuf Bin Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Al-Hail, who has been serving in Nepal since September of 2016, has been playing a vital role in bringing various cooperation for the transformation of Nepal and progression of Nepalese people.

A 49-year-old experienced hand career diplomat Yusouf bin, currently a Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Kathmandu, is considered as a sociable, supportive, perceptive, energetic, voyager by the Nepalese community. Hats Off!!! Ambassador.
