The Bishnu-Nati Photo Journalism Award 2023 has been given to a photojournalist Naresh Shrestha.
Currently being involved in The Himalayan Times Daily, he has been active in photography and photojournalism since two decades ago.
In a program organized by Bishnu-Nati Photo Journalism Trust in the capital on Sunday, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Cooperatives of Bagmati Province, Pukar Maharjan, presented a certificate and cash prize to photojournalist Shrestha.
Natikaji Maharjan, a senior photojournalist who dedicated his life to the field of photojournalism, established this award in the name of his wife Bishnu Devi Maharjan.
Similarly, Minister Maharjan also honored Ms. Sunita Dangol, who has been playing the role of Dhime Baja coach since 2064 with the aim of transferring Newa culture to the young generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Maharjan said that photojournalists will play an important role in transforming the society and expressed the opinion that the state should also support the field of photojournalism.
The founder of Guthi, Natikaji Maharjan informed that the country will be saved only if the culture can be revived. Thus, this prize has been established, he informed.
