A historic sporting jamboree 2026 FIFA World Cup officially kicked off on June 11. For the first time co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico featuring 48 nation-teams will come to an end with a grand finale on July 19.

This World Cup marks the first time that it’s been hosted by three nations along with Canada and Mexico, the United States will serve as host of the 23rd edition of the world’s largest sporting event for the second time in the 96-year history of the World Cup.
According to World Cup history, South Korea and Japan jointly hosted World Cup 2002. But this 2026 World Cup jointly hosted by three North American nations will be the biggest and most exciting edition of the tournament as 48 nation-teams from around the globe compete in 104 games. Earlier, the competitive teams were 32 only.
The 48 nation-teams will compete with do or die in 16 different venues across the three nations.
After the colorful inaugural ceremony, the kickoff game of the World Cup 2026 host will be played between Mexico against South Africa in Mexico City at 3 p.m. local time Thursday.
Mexico being one of the co-hosted of the World Cup 2026 game, besides, a stadium in Mexico City, Guadalajara City of Mexico will host the second game between South Korea and Czechia which all four nations listed in Group A.
The other city in Mexico to host games is in Monterrey.
Canada will host games in a stadium built in Toronto and Vancouver City.
However, 11 US cities- Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle will host the World Cup 2026 Games.
FIFA has confirmed that the 2026 World Cup final will be played on July 19 at MetLife Stadium known as New York New Jersey Stadium. MetLife Stadium will host eight matches, beginning with Brazil against Morocco on June 13 including one round of 32 match, one round of 16 match and the final July 19.

Meanwhile, New York City will host a massive, free watch party in Central Park for the World Cup Finals. Over 50,000 lucky local soccer fanatics are expected for the July 19 event on Central Park’s Great Lawn, officials said at a news conference.
