Fédération Internationale de Football Association known as FIFA, football’s world governing body, released the latest edition of updated FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking Men’s Football Team edition on September 18, 2025.
Since December 1992, men’s national teams of the member nations of the FIFA system were introduced based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked the highest.
Points being awarded based on the results of all FIFA-recognised full international matches system is used for the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking determination using the Elo Model which adds or subtracts points for matches to or from a team’s existing point total.
Established on May 21, 1904 FIFA is the international self-regulatory governing body of association football, beach football, and futsal that oversees international competition.
Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, its membership now comprises 211 national associations associated under the CAF (Africa), AFC (Asia), UEFA (Europe), CONCACAF (North & Central America and the Caribbean), OFC (Oceania), and CONMEBOL (South America).
The next FIFA Men’s World Ranking update is scheduled for Thursday, October 23, 2025, the FIFA sources added.
Under FIFA, the first World Cup began in 1930 whereas the Women’s World Cup commenced in 1991.

According to the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking Men’s Football Team Spain is on the top followed by France, Argentina as second and third position.
England is on fourth with Portugal standing on fifth position. San Marino has been listed in 219th position as least standard.
Talking about South Asia, India stands at 134th position followed by Afghanistan at 161 and Maldives at 171st position.
Nepal is ranked at 176th position followed by Bangladesh at 184th position and Bhutan at 186th position.
Sri Lanka is on 197th and Pakistan ranked at 199th position.
