The total population of the Sultanate of Oman at the end of last May reached 5 million, 388 thousand and 513 people.
According to Omani News Agency, this has achieved a growth rate of 1.6 percent compared to the same period in 2025 AD.
The monthly statistical bulletin issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information clarified that Muscat represents 28.6 percent of the total population of the Sultanate of Oman with 1,538,312 people.
North Al Batinah ranked in second place with 17.6 percent of the total population, followed by South Al Batinah representing 10.9 percent.
In the fourth biggest area, Al Dakhiliyah represents 10.7 percent while the Dhofar consists of 9.9 percent, the news agency report added.
Likewise, South Sharqiyah represents 7 percent followed by the North Sharqiyah with 6 percent, Dhahirah ranks 4.6 percent, Buraimi weighs 2.5 percent, Al Wusta has 1.2 percent and Musandam represents 1 percent of the total population of the Sultanate of Oman, the news added.
