Nepal’s population reaches 29.91 million

51.04 % Females, 48.96 % Males

The entire population of Nepal has reached 29.91 million.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics among the total 291.92 million, there are more women than men.

According to the data made public by the Bureau on Wednesday, the population of Nepal has reached 29.91 million of which 14,901,169 (51.04%) are females and 14,291,311 (48.96%) males.

In the census made a decade ago in 2068, Nepal’s population was 26.4 million.

This time, the population growth rate has decreased compared to the previous time, according to the Bureau.

The population growth rate was more than one per cent last time but this time it was 0.93 percent, the Bureau said.

Meanwhile, the total number of families in Nepal is 67.61 million. The population growth rate is zero point 93 percent. the population density is 198 people per square kilometer.

According to the preliminary results of the National Census-2078 made public by the Central Statistics Office on Wednesday, 2,169,478 people of Nepal have been living abroad most of the time. Out of which 1.763 thousand 315 are males (81.28%) and 406 thousand 103 are females (18.72%).

In the census of 2068 BS, the number of Nepalis living abroad (living abroad) was 1.921 million. Of these, 1,684,029 were males and 2,37,400 were females. But now the number of women going abroad has almost doubled to 36 per cent, according to the department.

On a district-wise basis, people from 77 districts have gone abroad. The highest number was from Kathmandu, Kailali, Jhapa, Rupandehi and Morang and the lowest from Manang, Dolpa, Humla, Mugu and Mustang.

10 years ago, in 2068 BS, the number of those who were absent from home (often living abroad) was 1.921 million. Out of them, males were 16 lakhs 84 thousand 29 (87.64%) and females were 237 thousand 400 (12.36%). Compared to 068, the number of women going abroad has increased by 71.09 percent in 078.

Kathmandu has 2 million

According to the preliminary data of the Central Statistics Office’s census of 2078 BS, Kathmandu has the highest population of 2 million. The department has stated that 2 million 17 thousand people are living in Kathmandu alone.

Similarly, Manang, a mountainous district in Nepal, has the lowest population. According to the department, only 5,645 people are living in Manang.

This year’s census found that the Himalayan district has a relatively low population and the Terai district has a high population density.
