Nepal and the Republic of Namibia have established diplomatic relationships.
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal and Ms. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade of the Republic of Namibia signed a Joint Communiqué today September 25, 2026 establishing diplomatic relations between Nepal and Namibia.
Ahead of a brief signing ceremony held at the UNHQ, the two Ministers exchanged views on a broad range of issues of mutual interest including the devastating impacts of the recent climate disaster in Nepal and underscored the importance of exploring new avenues to advance bilateral cooperation for the shared progress and prosperity of the two countries and peoples.
With these ties, Namibia became the 187th country with which Nepal has diplomatic relations.
