FHS Africa announces award recipients

Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) Africa is to be organised from 31 March to 1 April 2026 in Nairobi.

Ms. Vimbai Masiyiwa, Co-Founder and CEO of Batoka Africa will receive the Leadership Award whereas Colin Bell, CEO of Natural Selection and former CEO of Wilderness will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Hospitality Award, said APO press release.

Both awards will be presented during FHS Africa 2026.

As Co-Founder and CEO of Batoka Africa, Vimbai Masiyiwa is shaping a new era of African hospitality. The company operates a portfolio of luxury safari properties in Zimbabwe, grounded in conservation, sustainability and community empowerment.

Colin Bell is one of the most influential figures in African conservation tourism in strengthening partnerships with governments and communities positioning African safari tourism as a global benchmark for sustainable luxury.

FHS Africa 2026 will bring together hospitality investors, owners, operators and industry leaders from across the continent and beyond for two days of forward-looking discussion, high-level networking and celebration in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, for another development, nominations for the African Energy Awards are officially open with the entries deadline until May 30.

Various awards including Mohammed S. Barkindo Lifetime Achievement Award (non-voting category), Lifetime Achievement Award (non-voting category), Energy Person of the Year (non-voting category), Exploration & Production Leader of the Year, Gas Monetization Award, Deal of the Year, International Service Provider of the Year, African Service Provider of the Year, African Local Content Champion, International Local Content Champion, Reformer & Change Maker of the Year Award, CSR Project of the Year, Media Personality or Agency of the Year, Technology Innovator of the Year ceremony to be held during the upcoming “African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies Conference and Exhibition” scheduled for October 12-16, 2026, in Cape Town, said a APO press release.

Held as one of the flagship moments of AEW, the awards recognize excellence across the continent’s oil, gas and broader energy value chain. The opening of nominations marks the start of the search for this year’s most outstanding industry leaders and achievements, it reads.
