Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has supported Horizontal Cylindrical Triple Walled High Pressure Biomedical Waste Autoclave Machine for the purpose of health waste management to the Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital, Nuwakot District Hospital and Tikapur Hospital.

The machines worth US $42,100 were provided under the KOV program to those three hospitals, said the press release of the KOICA Nepal Office.
With support from KOICA the then KOV Ms. Minkyung Yu’s demonstration on waste management in Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital in 2018 was successful. As such, waste management has been identified as one of the best KOV projects. So, KOICA has supported three hospitals aiming to continue the project.
KOICA hopes small support to the hospitals will bring significant outcomes in the hospital waste management and anticipates in the upcoming years all the hospitals would extend their waste management unit to waste management department adding more services, it said.
KOICA aims to promote sustainable development by strengthening partnerships enhancing the local ownership of beneficiaries, it reads.
