As McDonald’s Holdings Japan faces a crisis of the potatoes due to delays in imports it said on Friday that starting Sunday January 9 it will likely halt selling medium and large size fries for nearly a month.

Instead, it will offer a small discount on its other set menus to replace the fries, the company said.

According to the McDonald’s, heavy snowfall and bad weather in Canada have delayed the shipment of fried potatoes to be arrived.

With this announcement, McDonald’s Japan’s restriction on sales of fried potatoes is the second time.

Earlier, for nearly a week, it suspended the sales of fries in late December.
