Newly appointed three ambassadors to Nepal from the State of Israel, Spain and New Zealand H.E. Shmulik Arie Bass, H.E. Juan Antonio March Pujol and H.E. Patric John Rata respectively presented their Letter of Credentials to President Ramchandra Paudel amidst a function organized on Friday at the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.
Among the three envoys, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Bass is the Kathmandu based Residential Ambassador whereas Ambassador Pujol of Spain and Ambassador of Rata of New Zealand are the non-residential ambassadors based in Indian capital New Delhi.
The State of Israel is a small country located in the Middle East along the eastern coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, bordered by Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. Israel is situated at the junction of three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa.
Israel is the only fully democratic country in the Middle East. Israel has a diverse climate with snowy mountains in the north and hot deserts in the south. With the population of nearly 9.5 million about two-thirds of the population were born in Israel and other Israelis come from different countries.
Diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel were established on 1 June 1960.
Likewise, with the current population of about 48 million Spain is a country on Europe’s Iberian Peninsula established diplomatic relationships with Nepal on May 13, 1968. Also, having a population of nearly 5.3 million, an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean New Zealand and Nepal established diplomatic relations in May 1961.
