The Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly (WHA79) will convene from 18 to 23 May 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, at the Palais des Nations and at the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Health Assembly’s provisional agenda contains approximately 68 items and sub-items; the documentation – reports, conference papers, draft decisions and resolutions – will progressively be available on this page.

Meanwhile, the member states of the WHO have progressed work on the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing (PABS) annex, a key part of the WHO Pandemic Agreement.

Today, they agreed additional time was needed to finalize the framework for ensuring a better, more equitable, response to future pandemics.

Countries also ended the resumed session of the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) on the WHO Pandemic Agreement in Geneva, focused on the PABS system. The outcome of this work will be presented to the 79th WHA.
