Southwest Airline joins IATA’s SDEP

Southwest Airlines has joined (International Air Transport Association) IATA’s Schedule Data Exchange Program (SDEP).

with this, the number of contributing airlines reach to 190 in IATA that represents over 360 airlines accounting for some 85% of global air traffic

Launched in late 2023 SDEP builds an uniquely airline-owned schedule and minimum connecting time exceptions database now exceeds 70% available seat kilometers (ASKs) of airlines based in Asia, Middle East, and Africa, and is expected to reach 90% coverage globally by end of 2026.

The SDEP is governed by contributing airlines in compliance with competition and antitrust laws, strict data release policies, and adherence to data security and privacy best practices, said IATA press note.
