Government honors 25 entrepreneurs with ‘CIP Award’

Nepal Government has honored 25 entrepreneurs from 13 business-categories as Commercially Important Personality (CIP) Awards amidst at a function organized today in capital.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has honored those CIPs with a CIP card, CIP logo and certificate t a special event organized by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

According to the ministry sources, CIPs will also get facilities as equal treatment as VIP in Tribhuvan International Airport, will have access to CIP Lounge at Nepal airport and the VIP Lounge in other domestic airports, special privilege in visa process at the foreign countries’ embassies based in Nepal, entry at Singh Durbar (Government Secretariat), health facilities in coordination of government etc.

CIPs will also have a privilege of official meeting with the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister and other senior government officials,

Commercially Important Personality (CIP) Award is provided by the government to respect the contribution of the entrepreneurs for the advancement of country’s economy.

This year, according to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ramchandra Sanghai (in textile group), Dorje Gyaljen Lama (woolen carpet sector), Rahulman Shakya (in readymade garments area), Surya Kumar Gurung (Pashmina shawl group) and Rabin Shrestha (woolen area) were honored for their valuable contribution based on export amount figures to the third world nations.

Likewise, Harkirat Singh Bedi, Dibyaraj Sapkota and Yukti Golchha were awarded on the basis of their higher export volume to India.

Similarly, Pemba Dorje Sherpa, Bishwaraj Basnet and Machhindra Pandey have been honoured for their highest export volume to China.

Sujan Kumar Shrestha and Nirwan Kumar Chaudhary were honored for their largest amount of export of agro-products and herbs prioritized items whereas Gopi Prasad Kandel was honored for bringing highest amount towards home through exporting Nepali handicrafts.

Also, a woman entrepreneur Ms. Rajyalaxmi Golchha as a largest woman exporter, Dinesh Pradhan as a largest software exporter and Liu Shogun of Hongshi-Shivam Cement as the largest investor in Nepal were also honored.

On the occasion Prime minister also honored Pawan Kumar Golyan for creating the highest number of jobs, Chandra Prasad Dhakal for bringing highest remittance through a banking system, Suresh Lal Shrestha for earning highest foreign currency and Sunita Sherpa and Akshaya Golyan for making the largest export as youth entrepreneurs.

President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Ms. Bhawani Rana, Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Rajesh Kasi Shrestha and President of Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) Satish Kumar More were also honored with the Honorary Award in recognition of their contribution to the nation’s economy.

The government had provision of CIP Award for biggest taxpayers too in earlier but as it was in controversy for several years this award has been stopped to distribute.

CIP award is a motivational honour for the entrepreneurs. Thus, honoring business people should be continued in a perfect manner, forgetting all pros and cons happed in the past, to motivate and involve more in their business activities. Definitely prosperous of economic activities leads the nation towards prosperity and development.
