The colour of Nepali passport will be changed from the existing colour.
According to the regulations published in the Government notice, the new passport to be used by general citizen will be of brown chocolate. Now the Nepal citizens are holding green colour passport.
But the red colour diplomatic passport and blue colour official passport will be same. However, the service passport will be of orange colour.
As per the new regulations, 904 elected people’s representatives could use red colour diplomatic passport while on travel to foreign countries.
President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister, Central Government Ministers, 275 Members of the House of Representatives and 59 Members of the National Assembly will use diplomatic passport.
Governors of Seven Provinces, Chief Ministers of Seven Provinces, Main Opposition Leader at the House of Representatives, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Justice of Supreme Courts, 550 seven province’s parliament members, 5 Mayors of Metropolitan cities, 13 Mayors of Sub-metropolitan cities and Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City are also entitle to get diplomatic passport.
Chief of Constitutional bodies, Members of Judiciary Council, Chief of District Coordination Committees, Members of the Constitutional Bodies, Chief Commissioners, Member of the National Planning Commission, General Secretary of the Parliament, Chief Registrar at the Supreme Court, Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Chancellors of the Academies, Vice Chancellor of the Universities will also be granted diplomatic passport, according to the new regulations.
Likewise, former president, former vice president, former prime ministers, former chief justice, former foreign ministers and their spouse are also entitled to get red passport.
Also, the employees deputed at the Nepali missions abroad will entitle to use red passport. And their families are also will get red passport while accompanying in the travel.
Also if the Council of Minister decided to give red passport to any person he or she will be entitled to get red passport, new regulations added.
Also, if the red passport holder is going to participate in an official programme then the spouse of those passport holder will also be entitled to get red passport.
Official passport will be used by government officers.
Service passport will be given to those people who are going to work in Nepal embassies abroad as an assistant with recommendation of the concern ambassador.
