Research4Life marks its silver jubilee year.
Observing the 25th anniversary of a public-private partnership that provides researchers, educators, health professionals and policy-makers in low- and middle-income countries with affordable or free access to scientific knowledge, the Who informs that the partnership has helped various professionals from over 120 countries.
Since its establishment in 2001, Research4Life has grown into one of the world’s largest and longest-running public-private partnerships dedicated to equitable access to scientific research with over 185 publishers and partner organizations access to biomedical and health research publications.
More than 12, 000 institutions now have access to over 250 000 journals, books and databases from many of the world’s leading publishers and research organizations, the WHO release said.Research4Life is supported by WHO, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Cornell University, Yale University, the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers
