Panama celebrates its primary National Day on November 3 every year. This day marks the country separated from Colombia in 1903.

Panama gained independence first from Spain on November 28, 1821 and later from Colombia on November 3, 1903.

Panama is a country on the isthmus linking Central and South America. It is located at the southern end of Central America in North America, bordering South America. It is bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

Panama City is the capital of Panama which is the site of the Panama Canal, a major route for maritime trade and a famous feat of human engineering, cuts through its center, linking the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to create an essential shipping route.

Nepal and Panama established formal bilateral diplomatic relations on February 15, 1984 however there is no remarkable trade and other activities.

As Panama has no residential embassy in Nepal consular and visa matters are handled by Panama’s regional mission in India.

Likewise, Nepal has also no residential embassy in Panama, the Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C., United States look after the diplomatic activities and accreditation for Panama.

On this auspicious Independence Day, we congratulate the Government as well as the people of Panama on the 123rd Independence anniversary.

Let’s hope Panama and Nepal will deepen diplomatic relations in the days ahead.

Long live Panama-Nepal relations.
