International Air Transport Association (IATA) Wings of Change Europe (WOCE) is to be organized on October 15 in Brussels, Belgium, considered as the heart of European policymaking.
According to the IATA reports, President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council Mr. Toshiyuki Onuma will open the event at DoubleTree by Hilton.
The meeting follows the World Sustainability Symposium to be held on October 13 and 14 at the same venue.
ICAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that sets global standards and regulations for safe, secure, and orderly international air navigation and transport.
IATA represents over 370 airlines accounting for some 85% of global air traffic.
A strong list of confirmed speakers for Europe’s premier aero political conference which aims to shape a regulatory agenda for an efficient and competitive European aviation sector that includes experts and industry CEOs who are going to elaborate knowledge on wide-range of issues ranging from the challenging geopolitical landscape to the economic outlook and the value of aviation to and Europe passenger rights, airport legislation, and safety issues and more.
Wings of Change Europe (WOCE) is a flagship industry event in the region where aviation leaders, regulators, and subject matter experts come together to discuss air transport’s top issues and opportunities to jointly agree on future actions to better utilize air transport as an engine of economic and social development across the European region.
WOCE 2025 edition primarily focused on what is required for aviation to improve its environmental and financial sustainability and navigate through current challenges. This included the environment, infrastructure, and capacity, as well as passenger experience. Europe’s flagship aero-political event once more shined the spotlight on industry leaders and policy-makers and included lively debates to shape the air transport of the future. The 2025 edition of WOCE took place on 18-19 November in Brussels, Belgium
Europe needs the economic and social benefits of a competitive and sustainable aviation sector more than ever, but the jobs, growth, and prosperity that aviation generates throughout the economy are imperiled by onerous regulation and high costs, IATA reports added.
Intense competition between airlines is good for passengers, but European airlines are struggling with notoriously thin margins and high oil prices that threaten to limit opportunities for investment in expanding connectivity, it reads.
WOCE is an opportunity for industry, government, and global institutions to unite and set the course to improve European air transport competitiveness,” said IATA’s Senior Vice President External Affairs Thomas Reynaert.
