WHO Chief begins Nepal visit from Thursday

At the invitation of the Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada, Nepal government the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gebreius is arriving in Nepal on April 21 Thursday.

Currently, the WHO chief Dr. Tedros is in India.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal (MoFA) press release, the three-day visit of the Director General will be accompanied by Regional Director, WHO Southeast Asia Regional Office, Dr. Poonam Khetrapa, and other WHO officials,

MoFA also informed that WHO Chief Dr. Tedros is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.

He will also meet Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka.

Before concluding his visit to Nepal on April 23 the WHO chief will discuss on health issues with the Minister for Health and Population Khatiwada.
