Vaccine card mandatory for visa on arrival

The government has issued new travel standards as the third wave of Corona rises. The facility of issuing visa on arrival to foreign tourists who have only completed the vaccination in the said criteria will be continued. The Immigration Department has informed that the citizens of the countries where this visa is open can avail this facility. This facility will also be applicable to non-resident Nepalis, representatives of non-governmental organizations and representatives of diplomatic missions.

Citizens of third countries entering by land will also get a visa at the point of entry to Nepal if they have completed the required documents. Foreign tourists visiting Nepal are required to complete the vaccination card against COVID, the proof of corona negative 72 hours before check-in, proof of hotel booking in Nepal along with need to fill out the CCMCC’s online arrival form

It has been mentioned that the tourists who come to Nepal for mountaineering should bring a copy of the permission taken with the concerned body. Foreign nationals seeking a visa to come to Nepal from the concerned mission are also required to submit the above mentioned documents. In the case of foreigners who have not completed the dose of vaccine or have not been vaccinated for 14 days, antigen testing will be required at the immigration point of entry into Nepal.

If the corona is positive in the test, it is necessary to stay in the specified place or hotel for 5 days of quarantine. The antigen test can also be done at the respective hotel.

It has been said in the criteria that the work of visiting Nepal can be started only if the check is negative after five days. Tourists who have completed the dose of the vaccine are also required to check the antigen within 24 hours after checking in at the hotel and for 72 hours thereafter.

If the corona is found positive during the visit to Nepal, all the expenses will be borne by the tourist himself and the insurance fee will also be borne by the tourist. It has also been clarified that foreign tourists or citizens within Nepal will not be barred from visiting Nepal due to incomplete vaccination or other reasons. Indian nationals entering by land are also required to fill out a vaccination card, 72 hours of corona test proof and a CCMCC form.

Nepalis and non-resident Nepalis who have completed 14 days of vaccination will not be barred from entering Nepal if they bring negative proof of corona test within 72 hours before check-in. In case of symptoms, antigen testing should be done at the immigration point. If the corona appears negative during the test, you will have to stay at home or hotel quarantine for 5 days. In the case of Nepalis and non-resident Nepalis who have not completed the dose of vaccine, they will be allowed to go to the destination only if they test negative.

 If it is positive, you will have to go for isolation.

Vaccination and testing is not mandatory for children under 5 years of age, while testing is mandatory for children between 5 and 18 years of age, but vaccination is not considered mandatory.

All foreign guests who come at the official invitation of the government will be allowed to test the Corona 19 at the entry point and participate in the program only if it is negative. If the corona is found to be positive, it is mentioned that it should be kept in isolation by following the health standards of the government.

New vaccine passport rules

Meanwhile, the Nepal government has introduced new vaccine passport rules for visitors to general public places, cafes and restaurants, department stores and Malls from Friday.

Mask wearing has been made mandatory to all.

The public has to carry vaccination cards along with them when they go out of their home.

Also, authorities have set standards measures saying only 25 people can enter into stores at a time.

As the country is facing rising Covid-19 cases driven by the highly infectious Omicron variant.

Until now, a negative COVID test was sufficient for people to enter cafes, restaurants and other hospitality businesses, but a double vaccination and or booster jab became essential.
