After a long-derailed tourism industry around the world has come into track.
As in other parts of the world, Nepal is also seeing positiveness in the tourism industry. Tourist arrivals in Nepal have been gradually improving. Tourism is the largest foreign currency earning industry in Nepal.
Tourism can be traced back as the beginning when Marco Polo in the 13th century; the “grand tour” of the British aristocracy to Europe in the 18th century; and the journeys of David Livingstone through Africa in the 19th century.
As per the data revealed by the Department of Tourism, from January to end of June 2022 a total of 237,813 tourists from different countries have visited Nepal
The department has classified the number of tourists visited each month in January as 17,000, in February the number grows to 20,000 while in March the arrival index continues to grow reaching 42,000.
In April the number reached 58,000 while in May it slid down to 53,608. Also, in the month of June 2022, the arrival was 46,900 tourists from various nations of the world that entered Nepal by air.
As Nepal possesses snowcapped highest mountains including eight of the ten highest mountains in the world, spectacular scenery the country is a hot spot destination for not only for mountaineers, trekkers, rock climbers and people seeking adventure but also sheer diversity of steamy jungle safari, adventurous white-water rafting.
Tourism is a social, cultural and economic phenomenon that includes leisure, business, sports, adventure and many more which entails the movement of people to countries or places outside their usual environment for personal or business/professional purposes.
