The movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is breaking box office records during the pandemic.
The newest Marvel Cinematic Universe equated USD 121.5 million in movie ticket sales locally between Thursday previews and Friday showtimes.
Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, reported “Just as the industry was preparing for the first $100 million opening weekend of the pandemic era, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ swung into theaters and obliterated expectations by hitting that mark by the end of Friday.
Sony, which is one of the co-producers on the movie with Disney, raised its prediction for the entire weekend, mentioning it currently forecasts the movie to reach USD 240 million in its issuance.
Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at BoxOffice.com mentioned, “Projections have only continued to increase as this film captures the zeitgeist and brings back many moviegoers for the first time during the pandemic.”
