FIFA cup events likely to benefit entire GCC, Qatar believes

Today, the eyes of the world are on Qatar.

Since Qatar won the right to host the 2022 World Cup, 12 years ago, the countdown to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 clock is ticking down on Sunday — November 20, the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East and Arab world.

Almost 12 years since Qatar was awarded hosting rights for football’s showpiece tournament, the whole of Qatar eagerly awaits Sunday’s opening game that will take place at Al Bayt Stadium on 20 November when host nation Qatar take on South American country Ecuador kicking-off the football at 7 PM local time. During the remainder of the group stage, from 21 November to 2 December, four matches a day will be held during the tournament.

All the participating 32 teams will compete for the trophy beginning 20 November-Sunday. And the final game will be played at Lusail Stadium on Qatar’s National Day, December 18.

The organizing team has also clarified that, although the World Cup Qatar 2022 is scheduled for the winter season (November and December) Qatar will use cooling technology in stadiums, training venues and areas for spectators and fans, which will contribute to reducing the temperature to range between 20-24C.

Since Qatar has won the bid of hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2010, the country promised to organize a historic and remarkable edition of the World Cup, setting new standards and advanced ways to organize FIFA World Cup tournaments with use of environmentally friendly innovative cooling technology used in the stadiums of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
