Envoys applaud preparations for FIFA World Cup 2022

Ambassadors of Kingdom of Belgium William Asselborn, Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado, Ambassador of French Republic Jean-Baptiste Faivre and Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Claudius Fischbach who all are accredited to the State of Qatar praised the FIFA World Cup 2022 host nation Qatar’s preparations to host the World Cup in November-December next year.

The envoys expressed their happiness after their countries’ teams qualified for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 looking forward to the game to an exceptional and amazing tournament.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is scheduled to be inaugurated on November 21 and the final game will be held on December 18 – the National Day of the State of Qatar.

The ambassadors applauded Qatar’s preparations to host the tournament during their participation in the festival to raise the flags of Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France and Germany in addition to the flag of the State of Qatar, the host of the countries qualified for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 organized by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) on Sunday in Doha Corniche.

All the envoys presented at the event said that the State of Qatar has done a tremendous and impressive job in organizing this great event including public transportation, stadiums design and environment protection as well as in receiving 32 nations’ national teams and thousands of fans from around the nook and corner of the world.

The envoys also expressed their excitement to be in Qatar World Cup 2022 to stand behind their national team in the tournament.

Also, the French Ambassador said, “France will continue its cooperation for the World Cup.”

So far, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, France, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Serbia have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Qatar, who will be making their first appearance at a World Cup, qualified as hosts.

At the event, Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and Nasser Al Khater, CEO, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, welcomed ambassadors.

Various ambassadors, diplomats and other top distinguished officials were present at the function.

Secretary-General of Qatar Football Association (QFA), Mansoor Al Ansari Al Thawadi said that the festival organized to welcome the countries qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which is an initiative of the SC and the Organizing Committee in the State of Qatar to welcome not only the qualified teams, but more importantly the fans of these teams to be here after a year of now in the World Cup.

“This kind of event will be repeated for all countries that qualify to the World Cup finals and Corniche will be decorated with the flags of all the countries qualified for the World Cup,” he said and congratulated the fans of the qualified teams for the 2022 World Cup.
