Qatar Airways becomes sponsor of ‘A’ Division League Football in Nepal again

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Qatar Airways have again joined hands of cooperation for the Qatar Airways Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2021/22.

As per the agreement, Qatar Airways is to sponsor this season’s Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship. 

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa and Qatar Airways Nepal Country Manager Mohamed El Emam signed the partnership agreement today- Wednesday amidst a function held at ANFA Complex.

Earlier also, Qatar Airways had sponsored Nepal’s football league-championships.

According to the ANFA press statement, the Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship will kick-off on November 19.

The opening boots will be of Friends Club against Satdobato Youth Club, the release mentioned.

Months–long all the league-matches of the Nepali football’s A division teams will have pleased fans and supporters deepening into the do or die games at Dasharath Stadium.

The release also stated that as per the partnership clause, the Qatar Airways’ logo will feature on all 14 League club shirts to be wear by the football players of Tribhuvan Army Football Club, APF Football Club, Machchhindra Football Club, Sankata Football Club, Nepal Police Football Club, Himalayan Sherpa Football Club, Satdobato Football Club, Manang Marsyangdi Football Club, Three Star Football Club, NRT Football Club, Friends Football Club, Chyasal Youth Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club and Brigade Boys Football Club.

Also, the partnership provides brand awareness through perimeter boards, stadium flags, LED screens and online digital content as well as other activities, ANFA said.

As per the football regulations, the two teams that fall in least positions based on the score tally will be relegated while the League champions will bag Nepali Rupees 7.5 million followed by Nepali Rupees five million by the first runner-up team, the ANFA release stated.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways release has said that “It is delighted to announce a new partnership with the All Nepal Football Association for sponsoring the Qatar Airways ‘A’ Division Martyr’s Memorial League, the biggest annual football event in Nepal.

With this renewal partnership Qatar Airways will have more exposure in Nepal whilst supporting the development of football in the country.

Speaking at the function, ANFA President Sherpa said, “the continuity of Qatar Airways’ sponsoring the league was built upon the existing collaboration with Qatar Airways.

“I was keenly anticipating the league that would begin from November 19,” Sherpa expressed.

At the function, Qatar Airways Nepal Country Manager Mohamed El Emam said, “Qatar Airways was here to connect people with all ages and backgrounds through football which can be used as a tool to foster harmony and provide greater social support for the community.”

The game also provides a platform for players to develop and continue to push the standard of football in the country,” he added.
