President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday New Year 2080 Day decorated 728 people from various walks of life who have made contributions in their respective fields.
President has conferred various decorations awards with Nepal Ratna, Rashtra Gaurav, Suprasiddha Prabal Janasewashree, Prasiddha Prabal Janasewashree, Sukirtimaya Rashtradeep, Suprabal Janasewashree, Kirtimaya Rashtradeep, Prabal Janasewashree, Rashtradeep and Janasewashree awards.
The honour recipients includes businesspersons, culture experts, artists, social workers, athletes and coaches, civil service employees, Nepal Army personnel, physicians and foreign nationals were announced on Constitution Day on September 19, 2022.
The President conferred the Nepal Ratna on former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala (posthumously) amidst a ceremony at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas today.
Similarly, three were decorated with the Rastra Gaurav award and they are the Jibaraj Neupane ‘Ashrit’ (posthumously), former Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Khilraj Regmi, and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi (posthumously).
Fourteen were conferred with the Prasiddha Prabal Janasewa Shree, 16 received the Sukirtimaya Rastradeep, 165 the Suprabal Janasewa Shree, six the Kirtimaya Rastradeep, 316 the Prabal Janasewa Shree, one the Rastradeep and 205 were awarded the Jana Sewa Shree.
Vice-president Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, House Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina were present on the occasion held at the Sheetal Niwas on Friday.
