Seven South African women were nabbed along with 51 kilograms of heroin (White) worth over NRs 1 billion by Nepal Police in Kathmandu.
Making them public on Thursday in the capital at a news conference, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police said the seven women were arrested from different hotels of Thamel in various days along with a huge volume of narcotic drugs they possessed.
Nepal Police had arrested Ms. Sibisi Thandekile, 29, Ms. Muriel Qedukwazi Thembeni Nsamba, 46, Ms. Tshabalala Khanyisile Yvonne, 39, Ms. Rosinah Nonqele Jantjie, 36, Ms. Mahlako Maureen Mathiba, 29, Ms. Moroesi Suzan Kofu, 37, and Ms. Marlese Badenhorst, 30.
As per the police report, Ms. Moroesi Suzan Kofu arrived in Nepal via Doha of Qatar and the other six women arrived from Dubai in the UAE.
In Nepal there are no so far users of such a kind of drug, Nepal Police suspected that those African women could have been used to smuggle narcotics to Indian market.
