PJSL in ‘get set position’ to write history in journalism

Nearly one and half a month later, the Professional Journalism School of Liberia (PJSL) is set to embark into a new venture of the journalism field by graduating 37 journalists on July 31, 2021.

PJSL is a professional media learning institution in Liberia that offers quality journalism courses for aspiring journalists in the country located at other section of Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex at Paynesville,

“Students are going to be graduated after having satisfactorily completed the requisite courses for practicing journalism,” said Executive Director of the school Courage JC Mulbah.

“If given the opportunity to practice, it can make the difference in the Liberian media space and the world at large,” he believed.

“A total of 37 graduands have been thoroughly trained to be ethical and professional in the discharge of their journalistic duties, something he believes will help to increase the public trust in the media,’ informed Director Mulbah.

According to the Mulbah, the names of all graduands students will be published and broadcast in both the print and electronic media respectively in early July as part of the process of extending invitation to the public.

“For PJS, the month of July will be a complete month of celebration and the planning process for activities leading to the graduation is ongoing smoothly,” Mulbah informed and added further, “Everything concerning the planning process leading to the institution’s first commencement convocation is on course, and dates for events such as field trip, awards and dinner night, sports day, and baccalaureate service are being set.”

With numbers in the media growing around the world, the numbers of audiences have also increased at a huge rate, Thus, journalism has become a prestigious but challenging career choice for many newcomers which plays a key role as the Fourth States in the development of the nation.

Being a journalist is not an easy job. It is the Masters of the Words.

Journalism is not just a simple occupation but instead it is one of the respected, colourful lifestyles who do not generate extra-wealth, but form the consciousness of citizens, their character, behavior, deeds, active life position.
