Over 150 people scaled Mt. Everest in a day

An expedition to the Mt. Everest, the world’s highest snow-covered peak was postponed due to bad weather and coronavirus infection, has started again.

According to Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, a climber guide at the base camp, on the very first day of open on Sunday more than 150 people were atop Mt. Everest.

They began to ascent at 5:00 am, he added.

However, again on Sunday afternoon the weather comes bad. Thus, the rest of the climbers are planning to ascent on May 30 as the Department of Meteorology says the weather will be sunny.

According to the Department of Tourism, this year 408 climbers from 44 expeditions have taken permission to climb Mt. Everest.

Many of them have climbed Mt. Everest however, still huge numbers of climbers are staying at the base camp with readiness to ascend.

Among the given permission, 315 are male while 92 are female and one is third gender sex.

The department also revealed that total revenue of Rs. 496.131 million has been collected from Everest alone this season.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Sang Yi Hong has become the fastest female climber to climb the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.

According to the Department of Tourism, Hung reached the peak in 25 hours and 50 minutes. She left the base camp at 1:20 pm on Saturday and reached on top of the peak at 3:10 pm on Sunday.

With this, Hung broke the historical time of 39 hours and 6 minutes established by Nepal’s Funjo Jiangmu Lama.

Earlier, Nepal’s Pemba Dorje scaled Mt. Everest in 8 hours and 10 minutes making the fastest record achieved in 2004.
