Nepalese MPs appreciate visionary leadership of Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina

Paid courtesy call on PM Sheikh Hasina

A visiting Nepalese parliamentary delegation paid a courtesy call meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this (Friday) morning at the GanaBhaban- the Official Residence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in Dhaka.

The Nepali lawmakers’ team is headed by MP Ms. Pabitra Narula Kharel, also a Chairperson of International Relations Committee of the Nepal’s Federal House of Representatives, includes MP Ms. Chand Tara Kumari, MP Dr. Deepak Prakash Bhatt, MP Dev Prasad Timalsena, MP Ms. Lila Devi Situla, MP Narad Muni Rana, MP Ms. Sarala Kumari.

Welcoming the Nepali lawmaker’s team, Bangla PM Sheikh Hasina expressed her gratitude to the leadership and the people of Nepal for supporting Bangladesh during our liberation war in 1971.

She noted that her government attaches great importance to keeping good relations with neighboring countries, including Nepal, as stated in a press release of the Prime Minster’s Office of Bangladesh.

Nepal can take advantage of using our Mongla and Chittagong ports, she reiterated and further added that Bangladesh is developing Syedpur airport as a regional airport, which neighboring countries can use.

The Bangla PM also expressed satisfaction that the Nepali delegation visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi and Bangladesh Parliament and met the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it reads.

Today, the delegation is visiting Tungipara through the iconic Padma bridge, added the sources.

At the outset, the Nepalese delegation thanked the Bangladesh government for arranging an excellent program for them.

They noted great satisfaction that Nepal and Bangladesh have been enjoying cordial relations over the years.

“This year marks significant importance for both countries as Nepal and Bangladesh are celebrating the 50th year of establishment of diplomatic relations.”

“Two countries may further consolidate cooperation in various sectors including power, hydro-electricity, tourism, education, ICT, connectivity, and people to people contact,” the Nepali team stressed and emphasized high-level visits from both the nations on a regular basis is must to strengthen the friendly ties.”

Expressing their impressiveness, the Nepal team also appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her visionary leadership that embarks Bangladesh into socio-economy development, it added.

The call ended with a goodwill gesture by handing over gifts from both sides.
