Nepal and Gambia have established diplomatic relations.
An agreement on establishing diplomatic relations between the two nations was signed on Monday by Permanent Resident Representative of Nepal to the United Nations Amrit Bahadur Rai and Permanent Resident Representative of Gambia to the United Nations Lang Yabu at a program organized in New York.
With the establishment of diplomatic ties with Gambia, Nepal’s diplomatic journey that began in 1816 with establishing diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom has reached 170 among the 193 members in the United Nations,
Nepal joined the United Nations on 14 December 1955 whereas the African nation Gambia joined the United Nations in 1965.
The Gambia and Nepal are members of the Non-Aligned Movement.
