Free air tickets to foreigners promoting Nepal

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) have reached an agreement Sunday to promote Nepal in the rest of the world.

As per the agreement reached, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will provide free tickets to foreign journalists, bloggers and writers visiting Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Tourism Board who are involved in Nepal promotional activities, said the press release.

NTB will invite nine writers each from different international destinations of the corporation.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NTB Dhananjay Regmi said that the Board has reached an agreement with the corporation to provide tickets to nine people from one destination.

“With such an agreement, about 80 foreigners will visit Nepal every year and promote Nepal at the international level,” he said.

In such an agreement between the corporation and the board, both the bodies have agreed to cooperate in the promotion of tourism in Nepal, to promote the corporation in the place where the board has reached, and also to facilitate the corporation in tourism promotion.

Such an agreement would help in the promotion of tourism affected by the Corona epidemic and would benefit both the parties, stated in the release.

Being a national carrier Nepal Airlines has been contributing a vital role in bringing foreign tourists to Nepal since its inception on July 1, 1958.

“The agreement is in the interest of both the NTB and NAC including selling Nepal’s packages to Buddhist tourist destinations,” informed the NTB CEO and added further that “this deal will assist the corporation to encourage and promote foreigners to come to Nepal.”

“This will also definitely help the corporation to sell packages tour joining hands with the board,” he added.
