Mt. Everest ascended by 80 climbers on Tuesday

Some 80 climbers, including Bahrain’s Prince, reached the top of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) Tuesday morning.

According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)’s director Meera Acharya, an expedition team led by Bahrain’s Prince Sheikh Mohammed Al Khalifa, including others, made the successful ascent of the world’s highest peak at 6:30 am Tuesday.

Climbing a mountain in alpine style is the most fun and challenging thing ever. Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes it’s hell. Most of the time, it’s something in between.

Ascending the snow-covered mountains is not only hard work but definitely a challenging adventure. It can be very dangerous and most mountains require a degree of skill and mental concentration as well as endurance. The weather can be foul.

Whatever happens, if luck falls it gives courage in the adventurism.

Thus, the Bahrain’s royal was leading a 16-member team to the summit, and around 80 climbers, including 12 from his team, reached atop Mt. Everest.

According to Ms. Acharya who informed from the over 5,000 meter high base camp that the climbers had started setting foot on the summit at 5:00 am. “Weather till May 13 seems favorable for climbing,” she expected.

The expedition for this season was opened on May 7, The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Tourism and Culture said that Tuesday’s ascent is the second summit to the peak of this season.

Total 408 people from 43 expedition teams are trying to find their luck at the top of the world.
