It is believed that the KOICA’s support will contribute to upgrade the services of the hospital delivery to the patients as the second wave of COVID-19 has hit the entire nation including the Kathmandu Valley.

The goods handover program was held recently in the presence of the Mayor of Thimi Municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha and other office bearers of the municipality and hospital, said the press note of the KOICA Nepal office,

Dr. Kim has been volunteering at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital since 2017 under the Korea Overseas Volunteer (KOV) Program of KOICA.

It is to learn that Kim had supported some projects for the hospital and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency was founded as a government agency in1991, to maximize the effectiveness of South Korea’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) for developing countries by implementing the government’s grant aid and technical cooperation programs.

In the past, development cooperation efforts were focused mainly on meeting the basic human needs (BHNs) of developing countries and on fostering their Human Resource Development(HRD).

However, the focus has now broadened to promoting sustainable development, strengthening partnerships with developing partners, and enhancing the local ownership of beneficiaries. Additionally, global concerns and issues have gained significant importance in the international community.

The KOV program of KOICA contributes to the socio-economic development of the partner countries at the grass root level by dispatching Korean national volunteers to government organizations as per the need and request.
