The Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu is organizing the 13th Israeli Film Festival on November 26 and 27 at the Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu for film lovers of Nepal.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic reasons, the films can be watched from one’s vehicle keeping a safe capsule, the embassy said in its press release Thursday adding “This is a first ever Drive-in Film Show held in Nepal- a kind of new concept of watching films.”

An opening ceremony will be held with a special screening of the film ‘A Fish Tale’ directed by Emmanuelle Mayer tells a story of an immigrant worker in Israel for invitees only, the release added.

The films show will be opened to the public on November 26 and 27, 2021.

According to the release, an 82 minutes long “Golden Voices” will be screened at 17:00 hours whereas one and half an hour long film “Laces” will start screening at 19:00 hours on November 26, Friday.

Likewise, on Saturday November 27, “A Place in Heaven” which is a 105 minutes long film will be screened at 17:00 hours and at 19:00 hours a 90 minutes long “The Unorthodox” film will be screened.

Anyone who loves to watch Israeli made films can enjoy this unique experience from their own car.

Entry for the film show is free, the Embassy said. However to secure a parking place at the Drive-in, the viewers are required to register via Soaltee Hotel website www.soaltee.com.

The Embassy strongly believes that such exchange of cultural activities help understand the culture and daily lives of Israelis by Nepali people. It will further strengthen our cordial relations and this time in the field of culture, the release said.
