Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder organized a farewell reception to volunteers of Heroes for Life at his residence on September 23—Monday.
Appreciating the volunteers’ fruitful contribution in Nepal, Ambassador Goder lauded the esteem role of those all volunteers and expressed his thankfulness.
The Israeli envoy also expressed his gratitude to schools of Nepal and all supporting organizations that facilitated to turn the dream into a successful reality.
A team of 38 volunteers from Heroes for Life–the Israeli NGO– has volunteered with their gained knowledge for a two-week long duration in five different schools across the Kathmandu Valley.
Heroes for Life operates in 18 countries around the world. The Israeli team has been volunteering in Nepal from 2017, says the press release of the Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu.
The young Israelis shared their knowledge with Nepali students on improving the educational environment and infrastructure set up at the schools from 13 to 26 September, 2024.
Each year, Heroes for Life returns to the same schools with different volunteers, bringing fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the initiative, while maintaining continuity in their work and ensuring a lasting impact, the release informed. The organization harnesses the commitment of Israeli soldiers traveling after their military service, who pause their journeys to give back to communities they visit.
The embassy also believes that besides supporting good educational goals among the Nepali partners, this collaborative effort from Israel will certainly endure friendship between Nepal and Israel by strengthening people-to-people contact between Nepalis and Israelis.
