A team of four US senators is coming to Nepal. Democratic senators Mark Kelly, Kristin Gilbrand, Corey Booker and Ed Markey are coming to Nepal. They are accompanied by Monder Jones, a member of the lower house of the House of Representatives.
According to MoFA spokesperson Ms. Sewa Lamsal, a delegation of US Senators visiting Nepal during their nine-day trip including Nepal along with India, Poland, UAE and Germany.
After Russia invaded Ukraine, they set out on a tour to rally support for Ukraine. India and the UAE have so far not opposed the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“They are scheduled to arrive on the April 22th Friday and return on April 24th Sunday, ” Lamsal said.
Opposing Russian invasion of Ukraine, Nepal has sided with Ukraine in all the UN resolutions on the issue. However, Nepal abstained in the vote to suspend Russia from being a member of the Human Rights Council.
