Foreign Minister directs 13 Nepali envoys abroad for mobilizing international aid

Nepal, which has been hit by the Corona epidemic, has taken initiative to mobilize international assistance.

In this regard, Minister for Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Pradip Kumar Gyawali held discussions with 13 Nepali ambassadors abroad on Saturday.

Briefing on the government’s efforts to combat the epidemic on zoom meet, the Minister instructed the ambassadors to work with extra efforts in mobilizing the health-aid as currently Nepal is being hit by COVID pandemic.

According to the MoFA sources, Minister Gyawali has directed to make maximum efforts to mobilize assistance from bilateral and multilateral levels as well as philanthropic organizations, private sector and migrant Nepalis to make efforts to procure vaccines, medicines and other health items against COVID-19.

He has also directed to work with the highest priority on the safety and welfare of Nepali citizens living abroad and advised to explore other possibilities of receiving assistance and mobilization.
