Eyes of world on 2022 Qatar World Cup for final draw on April 1

The eyes of the world will be on Qatar for the final draw of the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Friday April 1, 2022.

According to the world football body– FIFA, as the biggest milestone ahead of football’s flagship event fast approaches, the procedures for the Final draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the football fans and teams will find out their paths to possible glory on April 1 from 19:00 (local time), at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center at which time 29 out of the 32 participants will be known.

The procedures approved by the Organizing Committee for Competitions outline that the 28 already qualified teams will be allocated according to sporting principles to pots 1 to 4 based on the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking released on March 31 following the conclusion of the international match window.

As hosts, Qatar will take position A1 from Pot 1, where they will be joined by the seven highest-ranked qualified teams from the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, said the FIFA.

The countries occupying positions 8-15 in the ranking of the qualified teams will be allocated to Pot 2, while the 16th-23rd best-ranked qualifiers will be placed in Pot 3.

Finally, Pot 4 will include the qualified teams in positions 24 to 28, plus three placeholders representing the two winners of the intercontinental play-offs and the remaining UEFA play-off winner.

The World Cup 2022 tournament will take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, football fans will experience the world’s best teams coming together to compete to be the champions under the winter sun.

Usually, the 2022 World Cup would have to be taken place during the summer. But this year it will not take place this summer. Rather, it would help at the end of the year. It was rescheduled due to the hot weather in the host country of Qatar in the summer months.

Qatar won a bid to host 2022 FIFA World Cup becoming the first Arab state to host the World Cup.
