Danielle Wolfson 1st Israeli woman to atop Mt. Everest

A 43-year-old Ms. Danielle Wolfson became the first Israeli woman to summit the world’s highest snow-capped Mount Everest.

Wolfson atop the 8,848.86-meter-high snow-covered peak on May 25, as per the report source.

Born in Russia and moved to Israel when she was 10 years old Ms. Wolfson is a lawyer by profession in Tel Aviv.

“I am happy and proud to be the first Israeli woman to reach the summit,” she posted to her Facebook page after she ascended all 8,849 meters.

Ms. Wolfson had also climbed 6,893-meter-high Nevado Ojos del Salado — the highest active volcano in the world situated on the Argentina-Chile border and Mount Elbrus — 5,642 meters highest and most prominent peak in Russia and Europe situated in the western part of the Caucasus.

“I have a rule. On every summit I hoist an Israeli flag,” she writes. “As no woman in Israel has done it yet, only three men. It’s a dream for me, both in order to test my limits and to show that it’s possible that every woman can reach Everest,” she used to say. Thus, reaching the peak of Mt. Everest Ms. Wolfson’s dream turned into a reality.

A lover of sports, Ms. Wolfson suffered a serious ski accident with multiple broken bones in 2011 that left her bedridden for months.
