Cathay Pacific set to come to Nepal

Flag carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, is set to fly a non-stop weekly flight between Kathmandu and Hong Kong beginning October 1, 2022.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Cathay Pacific will operate one flight a week from October 1.

Now, the passengers including Nepali citizens can fly out directly from Kathmandu to Hong Kong.

And from there, the passengers can take other flights to their destination.

Cathay Pacific’s Head of Sales and Country Lead, Junu Maleku said, “We are delighted to be welcoming and operating Cathay Pacific into Nepal which has always been a very promising market for the Cathay Pacific Group.”

Currently, 26 airlines including two Nepali airlines Nepal Airlines and Himalayan Airlines have been flying to and from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport that opens round-the clock to 27 countries directly. Post-COVID has seen 70 international flights per day from various international airlines.

It is to be noted that Nepal has signed air agreements with 40 countries so far.

Eleven domestic airlines have been rendering their services within 18 hours of airport opening time.
