Brief Biography of Arun Ranjit

One of the senior journalists and well-known figures of Nepal Arun Ranjit is a veteran journalist who has accumulated wide experience in professional work from around the world.

Due to his recognizable contribution rendered from his field for Nepal’s development he was conferred and decorated with the Government of Nepal’s various prestigious HONOURS & DECORATIONS TITLES. Also, he was conferred with Gorkhapatra’s Gold & Silver Service Medals.

Academically a Master degree holder, journalist Ranjit had nearly four decades of journalism experience.

He had also served as Communication Consultant, PR & Media Officer at various high level international organizations, business companies. He had also worked as Media Correspondent of various newspapers, TVs of different countries.

He is a recipient of Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award honoured for his unwavering excellence demonstrated in the journalism field by the Marquis Publication Board in the United States of America.

Journalist Ranjit is also a recipient of Art Critic Award felicitated by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts.

He is one of the notable art critics of Nepal who had contributed, besides other sizzling and alert issues, a critique based on hundreds of write-ups on fine art paintings of Nepal and of the world in his weekly-column in the newspaper which was given continuation for two decades.

Due to his notable activities in strengthening the bilateral ties he was also honored with Appreciation Letters including EPS Nepal Office under the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, Gangneung-Wonju National University of South Korea, various other South Korea based Institutions, Finnish Travel Newspaper & Tourism Board of Republic of Finland, the US based Special Olympic, Indreni tabloid etc.

He was also awarded various prizes.

Gained journalism training from Israel, Japan, Qatar, the Philippines, of course, Nepal and attended journalism academic courses at the various universities of the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom & the United States of America.

He was a fellow of Asian Leadership Fellow Program, Korea Foundation and a Research Fellow at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum of Japan.

He also had the privilege to serve as an Advisory Board Member of Pashupati Area Development Trust of Nepal under which the Minister for Culture is the Chairman, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Nepal Office, and other INGOs based in the United States of America and Canada.

Giving credit to his continuation in the journalism field, he was offered a distinguished membership of various journalism related institutions of France, Belgium & the United States.

His biography has been published in various noteworthy international and national publications.

Also he had volunteered in a team of Special Jury Members for the various competitions held within the country.

Early days, he was engaged in weekly newspapers. Then after, he joined The Rising Nepal- an English pioneer and largest national broadsheet daily- where he served over 32 years in the various editorial capacities up to the top rank of Managing/Executive Editor.

During his nearly four decades of journalism in the newspaper he grabbed the opportunity to travel-wide, chit-chat with many national and foreigners including some most influential-dignitaries of the world.

Because of helpful & benevolent nature, energetic personality and gravity in public relations he achieved to build-up a pervasive friendship with enormous people from various walks-of-life of the world.

In terms of write ups, he had contributed thousands of opinions/articles in various broadsheet newspapers and magazines published from Nepal and foreign countries. Viceversa, he was also interviewed on wide-issues by numerous international media.

A widely travelled journalist, Ranjit has reached many parts of  Nepal’s nook and corners. Also, he had explored many grounds of the world under being invited by the foreign governments and concerned agencies in their respective countries of Asia, Middle-East, Europe, North America, Latin America, Caribbean, Pacific-Oceanic regions of the world.

Inscribing his experience into the words, he has penned accounts on management, industry, postal stamp, bilateral relations, arts and tourism-travelogue issues.

It is noteworthy that besides his round-the-clock professional responsibilities, he has also been sharing his valuable time to volunteer service for the community, country and man-kind’s betterment through various organizations for a long time. Still he is rendering his voluntary service holding executive posts and as a member too of the various international, bi-nationals and national organizations including sports, art & culture, diplomacy, human rights, journalism, adventure, social service etc.

Remarkable, past reference, he had served as National President of Nepal branch of an UN enlisted international organization founded in 1920 in France.

Because of an experienced-hand and capability, he is being invited time and again  for guest lectures and paper presentations in various programs at home and abroad.
