As the Israeli government finalized various strategic plans to conquer densely populated Palestinian city- Gaza, it has been widely opposed from various classes.
After the cabinet decision, it is believed that the action might deepen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the life of those abductees will be in a hotter situation too.
Thus, thousands of protesters including families of the captives gathered in various cities across Israel on Saturday calling first to solve a hostage deal before Israel’s attack over Gaza city. “We don’t want a death knell for our loved ones,”
Groups representing families of the hostages, slain soldiers, and victims of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, massacre also called for a general strike on August 17 against Israeli government’s strike plan over Gaza. The strike planned backed by various leading figures in the opposition and families affected by Hamas’s attack urged all concerned including general citizens to bring the economy to a halt. The strike is to protest the continuation of the war against the cost of hostages’ lives and further IDF casualties.
In this connection, with the arrangement of the Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu a Nepali captive by Hamas’s terror group Bipin Joshi’s mother Padma and sister Pushpa Joshi flew to Israel Monday morning with a great mission of HOPE to meet their son/brother and if possible, to be taken along with them back to home.
However, the fate of Bipin Joshi, a farming student at Kibbutz Alumim abducted by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, the day war in Gaza was sparked, is still unknown. It was just three weeks.

Bipin who went to Israel under the “Learn and Earn” program of the Government of Israel along with various other colleagues has been still under the captivity of Hamas terrorists.
On the early morning of ill-fated October 7 day Hamas terror groups killed many people including 10 Nepalese students who were in Israel along with Bipin Joshi with a happy mood of experiencing new ideas and technologies under the Learn and Earn program. Hamas is responsible for these atrocities.
The terrorists had also abducted 251 people of different countries ranging from small kids to age-old octogenarians.
However, after time flies on many of those captivities have been freed by Hamas installment basis but sadly have killed some lives too. Still the terror group is holding 50 hostages including Bipin Joshi in the Gaza Strip. But according to unconfirmed sources released by the IDF, 28 abductees are no more among them.
As Joshi is still under captivity various efforts are being made to release him through the Israeli government as well as Nepal government. But the dream has not been fulfilled yet, So, according to the sources, the efforts are being made through the United Nations too.
Bipin’s mother and sister are in Israel now aiming to hug their dearest one and bring back with them to home from Israel. If not, they will think of other plans to create an environment for international pressure on Hamas through the UN and other related institutions to push for his release.
As Israel enters 675 days of war today nearly 1,200 Israelis have lost their lives but over 60,000 people including civilians and fighters in the Gaza Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far as stated by the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry.
According to Israel’s cabinet decision Palestinians will have until October 7, 2025, to evacuate Gaza City which coincides with the second anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel. If not, Israeli forces will rain down massive offensive activities into Gaza City where 2 million citizens are residing. However, it is believed that nearly 75 percent of the Strip is under the control of Israel.
Based on Israeli PM Netanyahu’s statement “Israel doesn’t seek to prolong war. Our plan is not to annex Gaza with a mission to destroy Hamas and get our hostages back. And then hand over Gaza to a ‘civilian administration’ to govern Gaza ending the war fast.”
Seizing Gaza City plan may push Israel into war, death of the hostages including a large number of soldiers and general citizens as well as create physical destructiveness.
According to Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Shmulik A. Bass Israel has taken this bold step thinking that “Supporting a Palestine state is awarding a prize to terror without paying any price.”
Thus, Israel believes offensive military actions over Gaza City against the evil group- Hamas is timely needed to wipe out the Hamas’ roots becomes necessary.
