Air New Zealand world’s safest airline

Air New Zealand has been named the world’s safest airline beating Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines to take the top spot.

Air New Zealand Limited is the flag carrier airline of New Zealand based in Auckland, has been a member of the Star Alliance since 1999.

According to Geoffrey Thomas the editor-in-chief of the AirlineRatings.com- the rating firm Air New Zealand had an outstanding safety record and was at the forefront of safety.

Thomas said the past two years had been extremely difficult for airlines with Covid-19 slashing travel.

The ratings agency also named its top 20 safest airlines. They are: Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, TAP Portugal, SAS, Qantas, Alaska Airlines, EVA Air, Virgin Australia/Atlantic, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Lufthansa/Swiss Group, Finnair, Air France/KLM Group, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Emirates.
