The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has awarded ‘Mayors Research Fellowship’ to 10 people.
Urban Planning Commission of the KMC handed over fellowship on 10 different disciplines amid a function organized in KMC.
Speaking at the function, Mayor of KMC Bidya Sundar Shakya urged the research should be prepared keeping in mind the practical aspects so that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City can take it to the implementation stage by including it in future policies and programs.
“I believed that such field-based research would help in compiling timely data to some extent,” said the Mayor Shakya.
‘Kathmandu metropolis being the federal capital where the citizens from all 77 districts are being inhabited the policies and programs implemented here would be followed by other local levels, ‘said Shakya.
Shakya said that the service flow provided by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is connected not only with the mayor, people’s representatives and locals but also with the service of the citizens of 77 districts.
According to the agreement, the researchers- Pratik Khanal, Kriti Pradhan, Suraj Gautam, Rajib Pokhrel, Samrat Basyal, Nabin Raj Joshi, Kripa Sigdel, Manish Man Shrestha, Rabindra K Suwal and Gopi Krishna Dhugana who were granted fellowship have to be completed their research work within 6 months at most.
